About

Inanimate Friends will be used to document first and foremost the works of I, James Allard. The reason for having a blog of this kind is to showcase an array of art that currently sits idle in draws and in sketchbooks.

The title Inanimate Friends was developed from in depth analysis into how I relate to objects, buildings, places and spaces. What makes me project intense emotion onto these objects? Why have my experiences of places formed a feeling of unease? Is it still possible in this day and age to design and build a space where there is a clear sense of achieved utopia? The answers to these questions are the bane of my existence. This is why I make artwork and music and this is why I believe that having an outlet for my work is crucial with regards to gaining objective insights into my works and my life.
